boise:    june 2004

The squirrels near our bed and breakfast weren't shy. Probably had to do with the gallons of peanuts the owner distributed daily. I went for a walk along the river, and these statues were in Julia Davis Park. I'm assuming one of them is Julia Davis. The flowers in the Julia Davis Rose Garden rivaled those of Portland. Oh, did I mention there were roses?
The river that bisects Boise. Several miles of paved trails run along both sides. Scary blue water fountain near the rose garden. Fountain in the Boise Art Museum courtyard, where we celebrated First Thursday. Roland, my co-worker Torie's darling four-year-old. Torie, Roland, and Ernie outside our bed and breakfast.
Wasn't the B&B cute? I had the honeymoon suite. Roland, Ernie, and I took a short hike about ten miles outside of Boise. The scenery was surprisingly green. But the flora was remarkably different from that in Oregon.
I'm choosing to call it Crickets with no sense of self-preservation. Ernie and Roland are in the background. We walked until we hit this bridge
