Arnaud's restaurant review

Hoping for a bit of chi chi Creole cuisine, we had dinner Friday night at Arnaud's in the Quarter. The waitstaff all wore tuxes, the dessert menu featured bananas foster, and a reservation was required. The restaurant certainly had the appearance of the upscale dining we were seeking.

Then the lady at an adjacent table screamed and knocked over her water glass. A cockroach had crawled over her open-toed sandal. The waiter's response to her alarm? "You're just not from New Orleans."

And later he wiped his nose while preparing the orange flambé.

Dude, he so right. No matter how hard you try, you can never get the roaches out! But the wiping the nose part?
