A perfect Eugene day

I'm visiting my family in Oregon this week, and that means cherry tomatoes with that luscious dingy vine smell, HGTV overstimulation, and many aged, clambering animals. Today my brother and I kayaked in Alton Baker Park and picked copious blackberries. Los Lobos was doing a soundcheck at the Cuthbert as we floated past. Then we walked several miles as the sun set and barbecued patty pan squash and portobello mushrooms in his backyard. Now, I've traveled in third world countries that are more sanitary than his kitchen, so all of the food prep was on the back deck, camping style. We drank his homebrew honey pale ale and talked about life.

Psst! This is the blog of Moira Burke, a Ph.D. student in the HCI Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.

Rife with derivative pop culture blather, this site occasionally features thoughts on social psychology, usability, aesthetics, and the general meanderings of someone figuring out the meaning of life. Won't you help me find it?
